Posted by Haven As for Hollis: It's not my type of name. It's nice, but I don't really care for it. I have a much better image than Dallas - a bookish, dark haired little girl. Intelligent. It's a plus if it's a family name. Hollis Rose is simple, and quite pretty. Story... I have mixed feelings. I grew up having a noun for a name, and hated it. Then again, the name never suited me. I think Story is quite cool, and now that word names are common, it wouldn't be as difficult for her. Again, I don't know. There is a lot of baggage with the name. I tend to be more careful, mainly because I ended up disliking my name so much. However: Story Jane is quite cute, and if it's a family name, then go for it. There will be a "story" behind her name.

I just watched Stage Coach tonight in class, and fell in love with Dallas. Because of her, I really dig the name. Unforunately: I als immediately think of super-rich, snobby, cowboy-wannabe trendyees. If I heard of a little girl named Dallas today I'd picture a blonde, spoiled rotten, rich brat. It's too bad, otherwise I'd definatly use Dallas.
