A friend and I (mostly the friend) are making a Name Nerds application for Facebook... in it we're going to have a ranking system for names, where you can pick from 1-10 on a spectrum.
So far I have:
Masculine -- Feminine
uncultured/trashy* -- sophisticated
old-fashioned--modern
bland -- eccentric
couch potato* -- athletic
uptight/serious -- easy-going/fun (maybe this should be 2 categories?)
stoopid* -- intelligent
mechanical -- artistic
loser* -- successful
*maybe more delicate terms here!
and overall:
bad -- good
The problem is... I can't think of a good opposite end of the spectrum for Artistic. Using Britney as my guinea-pig name...
I would see Britney as the opposite of artistic, but I don't really see it as mechanically inclined, or business-like, which was my other idea.
What do you think of these categories? Should I add/subtract any?
