Posted by Greg on 3/9/2006, 7:56 am, in reply to "Re: boat numbers" The only two variations are Tournament Directors and late entries. Since the TD's are setting the boats off, they will take off last on the day that they are serving as TD's, so they are assigned the last take off position for that day. The benefit of volunteering as a TD is that on two day tournaments, they get to take off first on the other day. Please note that we reverse the take off order on the second day of all two day tournaments. The other variation is late entries. Any entries received after the Wednesday deadline, take off last (actually ‘second last’, just before the TD). If it's a two day "T", they take off last both days. Hope this answers your question. If not, please let me know. Greg Heinz - president

John, sorry I misunderstood your question. Boat numbers, and take off positions are determined at random, prior to the tournament. We go to www.random.org and enter "1-45" (45 boats paid on time for Clearwater). Then the website will take those numbers, and produce a random order for those numbers. That list is used to assign boat numbers to the "stack" of boat entry forms. So in essence, it is a random order assigned to a random stack of entries. Then those names and numbers are listed on our tally sheet, website, and livewell check forms.
