Posted by Greg (Mick) Schwent on 8/22/2006, 11:39 am Jeff & I joined your club because we were finding it hard to get the time and opportunity to fish together. Something we both love to do. Jeff fished with you a couple of times last year and liked the attitude of the club so we decided to give it a try. Now we can plan on being together and enjoying the friendly competition. We also wanted to learn how to catch fish on the big reservoirs and lakes, something that we have trouble doing in the past. Truman was truly a “Miracle” for us. It seemed like the harder it rained the better the bite. It rained so hard that I was getting my face wet from the water spinning off of the bale of my open face reel. But when the fish started to bite that didn’t bother either one of us. The blue flake power worm was “the” bait. I caught one 3+ pounds about 7:30 then Jeff starting catching his fish. I had Big Bass for about 2 hours and 15 minutes tell he caught one 4+ pounds. He was jumping up and down in the front of the boat, I never saw Jimmy Huston doing that. I was getting a little tired of being “net boy” (not really). Jeff ended up with 5 good fish and I managed to put one more in the boat before we were done. All I can say is that I taught him everything he knows. I would never have believed that fishing in the rain could be so much fun. Thanks for letting us be apart of your club. Hey guy’s, Thanks for the kind words.
We will gladly trade the secret to Truman for the secret to Lake of the Ozark.
