Posted by Salamander The writing has been going okay - I've slid past a deadline, but the slide isn;t fatal and I think the thing's going to be on schedule overall. The book has also gone up on the publisher's "Forthcoming" page which helps to make it feel more real (and getting the cheque for the pfirst part of the advance will make it feel more real still). My inaugural tilt at comic writing has gone on the backburner, although the Dennis O'Neil book was definitely a motivating read. Also, now that I have my first pay of the new year, it occurs to me that there should be at least one mroe copy of Y waiting for me over at Dee's Comics... Meanwhile, fine hot weather, the drought continues apace (ack!) but there's the possibility of El Nino breaking up early and giving us some rain by January instead of March or April (woohoo!). Had an excellent holiday - spent most of it sprawled on a couch at the folks' place reading PERDIDO STREET STATION. Haven't finished it yet though =P I also got a blender for Christmas so I've been fighting off the summer with a lot of enjoyable experimentation in the creation of ice-cream smoothies - I think I've about got the banana/nutmeg/cinnamon balance about right =)
