C'mon guys, I don't even charge for the damn things. Someone wants to come up and say hi and share some Y chattage that's great. Take home a little keepsake to remember the moment, wow, that's nice. I rememer what it was like to fill my sketchbooks with these amazing drawings from creators I've always wanted to meet. They took the time to do fabulous pieces, some even in COLOUR and they didn't ask DIME for it (back then I couldn't afford to pay for sketches so I only could get the free ones). They did it because I guess they knew it meant something to a fan. Well y'know what? After doing a couple dozen sketches of Ampersand today, some not that great I'll admit because I don't work well in public, I can tell you that it's not easy for a creator to do this, fingers get sore, patience is tested... well, seeing this stuff end up on an auction block... Okay. It pisses me off. I'll just add that I would never sell my full colour sketch of Omaha by Reed Waller, or the one with both a Moebius self portrait and a Geoff Darrow whale on the same page, or the Neil Gaiman mouse, or the Mike Dringenberg skeleton, or the Adam West autograph, or my two Sergio Aragones sketches of Groo. They mean a lot to me.
