For years, I have complained to all baseball friends that Tim McCarver HURTS the game of baseball. Every October, when baseball has the national stage, McCarver becomes a hyper-critical over-analyzer and actually makes casual viewers think that baseball is mis-managed, mis-umpired, and mis-played. His excessive criticism turns me off, and I am a life-long baseball fan. The point of announcing should be to make the game interesting and FUN, not to constantly complain about every little thing. Why does FOX continue to employ him? Joe Buck may be the best play-by-play man ever, but the severe criticism spouted constantly by McCarver ruins the fun of the games. HE thinks that his opinion is NOT an opinion, and that he actually is speaking facts. Where is the FUN when all I hear is criticism? Get someone in there to tell us what pitchers are doing, what they are TRYING to do, how hitters attempt to react to those pitches, and then be sure so emphasise that ALL of this is FUN and EXCITING!
