February Year - 2009 ________ Annual International Margarita Challenge ________________________________________ This is the 6th year of this competition to judge who can make the best Margarita. All challengers are welcome to enter. Trophy's will be available and are quite cherished and sought after. There will be a limit of five contestants in total selected so please apply soon. Prior to the commencement of the Challenge a prime rib supper ( imported beef ) with all the fixings will be served to those with tickets. Seating begins at 5:oo pm with supper served at 5:30 pm. Tickets go fast and provide you with a great meal and secure you one of the 170 seats to view all the goings on. Ticket prices for this fantastic meal are a mere 170 peso's per person and can be prebooked. The Challenge will also feature live music, a traditional Mexican dancing display and tequila sampling will be offered by the La Campanera distributor. Tickets go fast for the meal and spectators wishing to watch the event but take up a seat will be charged the same as those having a meal. Spectators after the meal will be asked for a donation to Challenge charities. If there is any room available for spectators, they may have to stand until chairs become available. Please be advised that depending on the situation, some spectators may be turned away due to overcrowding and safety reasons. Please bring an item(s) of some value to donate to the auction. Profits from this fundraiser shall go to local charities. February 10th _____________ Fashion Show - Place, time, costs TBA As always, the Challenge will be held at the Pina Colada Restaurant in Rincon de Guayabitos. This is one of the premier events and fundraisers in Guayabitos. I can assure you that you won't be disappointed ! 11th Annual " El Famoso " Horseshoe Tourney Fundraiser ___________________________________________ When : Saturday, February 9th, 2008 Where : David's Place ( Behind Tito's ) with three beaches for horseashoe pitches. Pre-Registration : Friday, February 8th at Mateja's at 4:00 pm. No registrations will be considered prior to this time and date ! Entry Fee : 100 Peso's per entry Check in Time : 8:30 am Event Start Time : 10:00 am Event Details : This is a charity fundraiser to support Vicky Flores efforts to assist the poor in the area. The Tourney will have multiple classes, a Blind Draw, 50/50 Raffle and Prizes, 1st, 2nd, 3rd Trophies in each class, a " Dead Ass Last " trophy to further humiliate the worst contestant. T-shirts will be available for 100 Pesos each and food and beverages will be available at low costs throughout the day. One of the Howell brothers may even have BBQ'd sausages availble ( they're fantastic ! ). There will be an after Tourney party at George and Loretta's ( Los Compadres ) up the hill in La Penita. This event is also dedicated to the memory of Roberto Howell.
