Agree with bajagrouper- let us know. Lots of interest on this subject.
My understanding was that the vehicle could be in Mexico as long as one had a current, valid tourist form / FMT.
When you left Mexico you appear to have surrendered your FMT- tourist form. Therefore the vehicle was left in Mexico without a current, valid FMT.
Although you now have a FM3 form, I believe you have to drive the vehicle out of Mexico and drive back in and register the vehicle with your FM3.
Your experience would be a great help to many on this board.
