Patti, a little clarification. Collectivo is a generic term for small vans that take people from town to town. They generally don't go from La Penita or other small towns to PV. Pacifico is the name of one of the many, many bus lines that travel throughout Mexico. It is the largest line in the PV to Tepic area and they have many busses with various standards. Generally, as stated by Lorne, they are very good and clean but a few are older. These tend to have shorter and rougher routes. You should find any of the Pacifico busses you can take to La Penita to be one of the better ones.
