Another option: Go across the pedestrian overpass, take a bus to Mezcales or Bucerias, tell the bus driver to let you out at Pacifico or Vallarta Plus bus stop, get some cervezas for the road and enjoy the ride. Local bus drivers might not like it if you have too many suitcases, they don't have as much room as Pacifico buses.
