I read your comments yesterday but wasn't sure what to write in response. Clearly abortion is never an easy issue but it is also never black and white. There are many many examples where one could say in clear conscience.... there but for the grace of God, go I. While the Church continues to say under no circumstances to abortion.... the realities of the human experience mean that sometimes we find ourselves at crossroads we would prefer not to encounter. My own preference would be for the Church to offer a number of different support mechanisms for pregnant women, spiritual and material. Then and only then may She be in a place where She can engage with the women who are struggling with the decisions they may make. And even then, She must refrain from attempting to see everything as black and white. Just a few humble opinions, of course. Regards
