Posted by Kevin Bates Downer's huffing and puffing in the Parliament the other day, telling us we could run our own show by ourselves thank you very much, reminded me of school children having a spat in the playground. These people close their eyes to the truth that is spoken, and proceed to slice off some of our northern islands and pretend they're not part of Australia anymore - what's next: Queensland?! Our State of Origin Games could then become genuine international matches eh!

With a dismissive wave of the hand, Messrs Howard, Downer and Ruddock have tried to discredit the preliminary findings of the UN team visiting our Detention Centres this week as being of no value or interest, and even claim that the visit has been damaging to the inmates.
