JOhn Howard's Debating Technique

In school debating I reemember learning that you never attack the person, but rather the person's argument if you want to win the debate. John Howard last night embarrassed the nation in his ad hominem reply to a question about our Asylum-Seeker policies in Germany - he attacked the questioner, and simply repeated his oft-heard themes and responded not at all to the concerns expressed in the questions.
Back to school for this PM!
He lost the debate!
