I wrote to the SMH today and left this message in their email box. So now we know how to wage a war on terror. Be more terrifying. When will we learn that the aim of the terrorist is to manipulate in such a way that we act out of fear and do not think then act?

Kev, true sentiments. I was speaking with some friends recently about the fact that because the violence was perpetrated against the two citadels of commerce and military might of the worlds greatest ever power, (to quote Johnny Howard) the act was far worse that similar acts that are perpetrated across the globe on an all too regular basis. I do not wish to diminish the suffering. But one of the sad points to note is that to mention a sentiment such as this in the face of such suffering as was experienced on Sept 11 in New York and Washington, one risks the wrath of true Americans patriots.
