Posted by Kevin Bates Three Government Departments now admit that they had intelligence to the effect that it was doubtful whether Iraq actually had weapons of mass destruction at the ready. What does this mean? Perhaps the bureaucracy are exactly where the PM wants them to be - either frightened to tell him what they know he doesn't want to hear, or simply not doing their job of informing Government of vital information. I wonder where the truth is - wherever it is,m there are serious questions to be answered and just saying that this matter has been blown out of all proportion, is not going to get John Howard off the hook. I do hope he is called to account for this appalling cover-up.

What a remarkable charade we have before us at the moment. John Howard merrily posturing away - "I didn't know" - "No one told me!" - regarding the real state of play in Iraq prior to the attacks there in April by the Coalition Forces.
