Posted by Kevin Bates They know that they have marvellous legal help in the person of Jeremy Moore and others, who are working as best they can to have justice done to them. Philip Ruddock remains steadfast in his impelmentation of this most brutal and heartless policy. As a leading economist pointed out on ABC's Radio National this week, our present policies will work agains us, both economically and morally in the years to come. As our population ages and we are lookig for increased migration to maintain ourselves, who is going to want to come here, knowing that we have a government hell-bent on judging the legality of people on the basis of our narrow rules for immigration. They persist in calling people "illegal" when according to all the reocognised international conventions, they are not illegal at all. Refugees and people seeking asylum are a recognised part of our international community. Our government's ongoing policy is as morally bankrupt as it is destined to lead to economic devastation in due course.
