The Government can't tell the difference between requesting refugee status or not but it's OK 'cause the islands were excised anyway!!. Carmen Lawrence has been elected as the fedral president of the Labor party on the back of a platform for a different, more humane refugee policy (and the removal of all temporary protection visas). It is SO slow but at least with a viable opposition or alternative policy stance we may end up heading in the right direction. We can only hope and pray....
