Posted by Kevin Bates Again a demonstration of the fact that violence begets violence and the world hasn't woken up to it yet. I wonder when our people will wake up to the fact that we have created a world situation that is more fraught with danger than it was three years' ago. The paranoid policies that followed September 11 will no doubt catch up with us. At least the film and entertainment industry has woken up to this fact by awarding the feisty Michael Moore with a Palm d'Or award - the first documentary film to be so awarded in 48 years. Washington (and our mob here in Canberra), keep their heads in the sand while the violence they have created simply breeds on itself. Israel and Palestine continue to joust and daily there are deaths on all sides in a pointless cause. I ache for the gospel to be heard and lived in these theatres. It's our only hope.

It's difficult to say say anything that hasn't been said these past weeks about the situation in Iraq. A report on the news tonight asserts that the invasion of Iraq last year by Bush and his colleagues, has made the world a much less secure place. It ahs provided the terrorists with a very fertile home ground from which to prepare their attacks on the rest of us.
