Due to national "Sorry", being neglected by the leader of our country, it gave me some selfrespect and dignity in my woes, when it was then announced that Thursday was to replece wednesdays neglect, with National healing day. I took my son to Melbourne Parliament House and both of us wore a black arm band, not just as a sign of reconcialliation but for the purpose to represent others of the stolen generation, (which is when you rights are stolen before you life really begins). These bands in memory of many children taken so abrubtly at birth from their maternal rights, mothers that had pillows put on their chest during childbirth, being judged as single parents were some of the traumatized. I appreciate what happened to our indigenous people, I ask that they appreciate it wasnt just black and white. And in the memory of all children locked up, as Australias' own, treated as child slaves and deprived of any future happiness. National healing day for me was finally raising my head from recognition, and parading my pride in front of those ignorant and arrogant.
I am starting to heal and wish the same for others who have suffered same.
