George Andrew Mena Former Resident of Pleasant Hill George Andrew Mena age 53, passed away on December 6, 2006 at his home in Fremont. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lynn who passed away one year ago. George was born in Illinois, but raised in Pleasant Hill. He was a graduate of Pleasant Hill School and San Francisco State University and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. His profession was a highly skilled Technical Writer and Sports Column writer. George was a big man with an even bigger heart who gave freely of himself to all he knew. George loved music, sports, computers and his pickup truck. George is survived by his parents, Henry and Angeline of Pleasant Hill; and his brother, Dr. Michael Mena (Vicky); sister, Argy Leyton (Kirk); brother, Gregory Mena, PE (Elena) and three nieces and two nephews. Rest in peace our Dear Son and Brother. God Bless You. The Trisagion services will be held at Oak Park Hills Chapel in Walnut Creek at 7 p.m. Monday. The funeral will be held at the Greek Orthodox Ascension Cathedral in Oakland at 4700 Lincoln Ave, at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Internment at Oakmont Cemetery in Lafayette.
