That is a glorious idea! I must admit my first thoughts of what to do with the site were to leave it alone. How could you rebuild there after that tragedy? But, after finishing your column, I have changed my mind. I do agree that building another structure so tall is out of the question. But your idea of leaving the top have open is so powerful. It will be interesting to see what does happen.
