Posted by S.R. As for Rachel... she had her 1st I.V. Iron Infusion today and she has to go back every day now (not weekends) until May 22 when she will get a break from the needles for a few days (June 6th is our monthly blood draw and visit to our Dr.) P.S.

Gonna keep on praying too... until we hear that Cathy is ALL CLEAR of any problems (our God is a "CAN DO" God... and I KNOW He is looking after our sister in the most loving of ways!!!!!)I am so sorry it was unplesant sis... (things "down there" usually are... but, as I said (in my case) I was sure it would not be "PAINFUL"!!! Thank God for that.... AMEN!?!?!?!?
Also.... THANK YOU SO MUCH SIS... I got your postcard... and now I have something that you were recent to touch... that I can touch, when I pray for you... and that is my "POINT OF CONTACT"
I hate that she will have to get stuck for this every day for a while but... since she don't have a port or anything it is just one of those things to add to her list of: "Things I faced that have made me a stronger human being!" Her infusions are in the ward with all the cancer patients taking chemo and such, so it does bring back bad memories for me, but... we got to talk to some really awesome people today that I am sure hoping we will know by name before all is done with Rachel in there. This one old gentleman in the chair next to Rachel was such a hoot... he noticed Rachel and I talking about how one particular nurse was treating Rachel kind of "crappy" and how RUDE she was... He agreed with us and said that if she didn't straighten up (the nurse, that is) that he would take BOTH his I.V. Pole AND Rachel's I.V. Pole and (Well, I won't say EXACTLY what he said but... I will say that he implied that "GROUCHY NURSE" would be rolled... in a very humiliating manner... to the parking lot!) LOL... it was wayyyyyyyy too funny!!! He told us that he will "Save the seat next to him tomorrow so Rachel can sit there again!" That really made Rachel's day and she told him: "OK. It's a date!" LOL
It is gonna be rough going every day and she said "They better not stick me in the same place every day" (I assured her they WON'T... or that "Grandpa Dude" will get them, LOL!!!) The infusion today took almost 3 & 1/2 hours soooooo if that is the "norm" or not... I don't know yet?? I am just so glad that this first one was not too bad on her... and she made one new buddy so far... ((((((Rachel)))))) and she is already getting him an envelope of "goodies" (Bible tracts and such... and a pic she draws that she calls "The Rose of Sharon"... etc...) She said she just wants to make him smile! :o)
As for her paper-work for her Hysterectomy that will be on June 12th (so much for our Dr wanting her in "ASAP") and her actual visit w/ that Dr has been moved to June 25th! (They STRONGLY warn US to NOT CANCEL the paper filing date... because if we do, they will NOT see her at all... yet THEY cancel Rachel and move her even further away from her "ASAP" date!!?!? Go Figure!!!
These infusions are to BUILD HER UP before she has surgery. I will have to ask the Dr BUT... my gut tells me that if they build her up... then they wait yet another MONTH before they even examine her at the GYN... and she keeps bleeding almost daily (she only has about 3-4 days a MONTH that she DON'T bleed) couldn't she end up back in the same shape she is now and need to face infusions again?!?!?!!?!? Uggggggggg... I just pray that something gives SOON... either GOD PLEASE HEAL MY DAUGHTER orrrrrrrrrr... they get in there and get this over with and get her out of her constant misery and being soooooo drained that she cannot even function!
Ok... 'nuff whinning now... Just please continue to keep Rachel in your prayers during these next several days of sticks and infusions... and tolerating "NURSE GROUCH" LOL!!!! We may just have to do some MINISTERING to HER too... as well as those we meet that are open to listening if they don't already know JESUS!!!! :o)
More tomorrow on how things go during her next session.
God Bless,
~S~
I believe Rachel's gentleman friend said that this is his THIRD run in with cancer... Please do remember him and all the others in the ward in your prayers as well!
THANK YOU!!!!
