Howdy Y'all,
Just wanted ya to know that I still think about my SBC sisters. Our sanctuary is growin', but donations and volunteers aren't. Oh well, we'll make it. We just got a couple new rescues, a 6ft giant green iguana, named Buzz, with a 6ftx4ftx4ft cage. We had a heck of a time gettin' it to fit in here. We also got an Albino Burmese Python, 2 years old and 10 ft long, without cage. She is a sweetheart. We named her Sunshine.
We had to do some cage movin' and critter shiftin' in order to make all fit. We gave up our couch, a filin' cabnet and a couple carts, that the bird cages were on. They now sit ontop of Thor (Red-tailed Boa Constrictor, about 11 ft long). His cage is long enough to hold 3 large bird cages.
As I sit here, that's what is on one side of me. Two snake cages stacked on the other side of me. I'm surrounded by love, lol.
Y'all are welcome to check out the new critters,in my album at webshots. I have a memorial album for those that have passed over the rainbow bridge. http://community.webshots.com/user/cougarcrone. It's still the most updated when it comes to pics.
I still have my website (url below post)and we are gettin' it updated! Finally!
I have also started a blog there on the site. So I could let y'all and others what's goin' on here. The ups and downs, the deaths, new rescues. Some of the homeopathic stuff in critters diets. I'm also hopin' that others will use the blog to ask me questions, about any critter, any subject: behavior, diet, housin', groomin', etc. I figured if I didn't know that answer (after 50 years experience) I could look it up for 'em and that would further increase my knowledge about critters.
My health continues to decline but slowly. It was 6 years ago that the docs told me, I had a year to live. I am feelin' better everyday that goes by. I'm gettin' stronger and able to do more than I have in years. Dave said I'm more fragile, though.
I was 65 in August, Dave was 48 in July and we were married 27 years, last March. We've always been soulmates, and now we're business partners too (sanctuary business that is,lol).
Gotta run, just checkin' to see if any of my SBC sisters still come to the board
. I miss y'all so much, my only family.
Luv, CougarCrone
