I have been living at the same house for 10years, and each year deer come and ruin my garden...
This year I consulted professional landscapers and nurserymen (as well as the web) and I planted "deer resistant" plants (Astilbe, barberry etc). I know that nothing is "deer proof" and that if they are hungry enough they will eat anything, but there is plenty of other "food" (growing in the wild) yet they still ravaged my garden full of plants they don't like. I have tried XP-20, moth balls, hair and Irish Spring, but nothing seems to be holding them back! What I don't understand is why on earth they would prefer yucky tasting plants over others that are growing wild? For heaven's sake- they even ate the Lilly of the Valley plants! Argh!
Any advice would be appreciated- THanks!
