What temperature zone do you live in ? The pots may break if it gets too cold. I imagane they can be brought inside during the winter, but may I ask why you don't plant them in the ground ? If you plan on eventually planting them in the ground, you can "heel" them into a temporary spot - just plant the Arborvitae, pot-and-all, in the ground. This will prevent the pot from breaking and save a bit of room in your house.
