It doesn't sound natural to me that the bamboo you have growing in water is turning yellow. Perhaps you could plant it in mud rather than water. Also, that you did not mention what type of bamboo you are growing. I have started bamboo in the past, but have placed shoots, or better yet bulbs in mud and kept them wet. Bamboo always does better in hot weather, especially when there is plenty of water available. I remember that after planting cane-type bamboo, that it would grow almost 1/2" per day, in 100+ deg. weather.
