My husband got two young amarylis while we were in Vermont in August. They both had two slim green spears. We came to Fl in our RV leaving VT Sept 6 and arriving in Palmetto, near Sarasota/Bradenton/St Pete on Sept 23. We put the amarylis in their pots outside in a spot that doesn't get a lot of sun but has been getting rain. The spears have yellowed and fallen off. The temperatures are in the high 80s during the day, 70s at night. What should I do with the amarylis to get them to sprout again. Should I refrigerate them and plant them outside here in Jan or Feb? We sometimes but rarely have a late Dec or early Jan freeze. I can see the top of the bulbs, they look green but ok.
Thanks for your help!
Kathleen
