Get a four inch pot and fill it with seed starter soil mix. There are several good brands on the market, but most any will do.
Water the pot to settle all the air pockets.
It would help, but it is not absolutely necessary to get a 48" florescent Grolux tube suspended about 4 inches above the pot. Get a pencil and poke a hole about 1/4 inch deep in the center. Drop in a seed in the 1/4 inch deep hole and cover it with soil mix and slightly tamp it down. Place the pot next to a window with a southern view.
It will take about 5 to 7 days for a seed pop up.
Wait till all chance of freeze is over
