Claytor is a strange lake. You can have two days of identical conditions..the fish will act differently on both days..there's days when you can go an absolutely wear them out... and then there are days you cant buy a bite with a hundred dollar bill...thats what makes claytor so fun to me i guess..plus i live in mt. airy so its the closest lake to me...one thing that claytor has over norman is the quality of fish.. ive never done much good on norman..biggest fish was only 5 or 6 lbs...but at claytor my largest is 16.5 lbs a couple thanksgivings ago...this year there have been reports from our club members catching them in the mid teens routinely..a couple even have pictures.. so its no BS...lol
