area to fish

Have not been fishing since last winter . Have a few days off at end of this week . My brother and I would like to fish . Any suggestions on where to start would be appreciated .. Will fish in morning into the day . Will try and make the meeting next Tuesday . I finally have a Tuesday evening off .. Live up by Cornelius part of the lake . Can go down by Midway end of lake if its better fishing . Thx for the help . Are the fish still in deeper water and down deep during the day .
