As Hickory warms up the fishing will continue to be more difficult. One obvious problem is all the boat traffic. Hickory is an absolute zoo from late spring through summer. You might get 3-4 hours of fishing in the morning before the jet skiis and pleasure boaters come out. So, that is not a lot of time to find the fish. The best time to fish the river is during generation, but the boat traffic going back and forth to George's Restaraunt can make that a difficult task also. I have not fished Hickory in several weeks, but I sure have not heard any good reports from other fishermen I know. Good luck to you though.
