: age of 56. Clifford was an important figure
: in the Austin music scene: impresario of the
: legendary blues club, president of the
: record label and owner of the roots and
: blues record store, all of which took his
: name. He was a tireless promoter of the
: blues, not only through his various
: businesses, but as an educator, teaching
: courses in the blues at both the University
: of Texas and Texas State University. If
: anyone could be described as a true blues
: "fiend" it was Clifford, but his
: impact on the entire music scene in Austin
: can't be underestimated.
