The 11th Annual Austin Marley Festival benefits the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB); a non-profit organization dedicated to feeding needy families in 20 counties of Central Texas. The 2003 Marley Festival raised over 27,500 pounds of food and thousands in cash donations, enabling the CAFB to provide 87,000+ meals to hungry Texans. This brings the annual Austin Marley Festivals 10-year grand total to 945,000 meals donated! Event organizers are determined to take that grand total over the Millionth Meal Mark this year and we need your help! Food drives such as the annual Austin Marley Festival make an enormous difference in the amount of food the CAFB is able to distribute. Info on the Capital Area Food Bank www.austinfoodbank.com.
The Marley Fest is Austin's favorite Spring festival; a weekend of reggae music, food and fun. With the universal theme celebrating Bob Marley's vision of peace, love, and unity - get groovin' to the beat of the some of the best local, regional, and national reggae bands. Sample exotic Caribbean foods, shop vendors displaying a variety of third world crafts or bungee jump, climb a rock wall, and dance wildly amongst the drum circles. Kid friendly area available. More info at: www.austinmarleyfest.com or contact 512-773-5177.
