Posted by tom I was lucky enough to see Big Mac play twice: once with Oakland at the Metrodome (I'm in Minnesota) vs. the Twins when I was twelve. I believe it was around '90. Ricky Henderson and Jose Canseco hit home runs that day; McGwire hit a foul ball that landed fairly close to me off the 1st base side. And then, during 1998 at the Metrodome--the last of a 3 game series in interleague play. He had hit a home run (almost TWO!) the previous night (#36). But unfortunately none on the day I went with my friend. We didn't even get a chance to see him hit batting practice. Best,
