I was a fan of Mark McGwire, and I think he helped save a sport that people were getting fed up with. The baseball strike did a lot of damage! So I'm grateful to him and don't begrudge him his silence. I will always remember that homerun contest with Sammy Sosa as being one of the finest moments in sports. If McGwire did say something in Sports Illustrated, I think it would be interesting reading and might come compete closely with the swimsuit edition. If he doesn't, I have to assume he's comfortable with the situation, and I guess I am too.
