Posted by Tim Harris Since you work in the “public school system” you are one of the people who are tasked to educate our children. Mind you I said “educate”, not impart your values upon these fertile minds. Most in the “public school system” are people who want everyone else to pay for their inability to successfully carry out the agenda with which they were originally tasked. You and the people associated with the “public school system” have created the current situation with regards to lack of respect, which is really what you are trying to describe in your statement about “8th graders who think they know more than every adult on the planet”! Had educators and classified employees in our schools truly been concerned about Education instead of spreading agendas not directly related to the “3 R’s”, we probably wouldn’t be having the difficulties we now have in our “public schools”. I am for vouchers for education and for a parent’s ability to choose where their tax dollars for education are spent regarding their children and which schools they attend. Also, for a merit system whereby teachers are paid based upon performance. Remember, if you do not insist upon respect in the classroom from the very beginning, you will not be given respect in the end. By the way, if you’re only making less than 2 million for your entire working career, perhaps you should’ve changed careers early on instead of just settling for “a job”.

Obviously I misread your introduction, but I see that you do work in a school system therefore you are already suspect. Since it is very apparent that you know nothing of professional athletes and the trials and travails they must undergo, all that is left to say is that you are one of the Liberal Whiners. You probably think that the “Rich” are out to get you and that they (the rich folks) should pay for everything you don’t have and those things that the underprivileged folks don’t have either.
