Total BS. Baseball has a huge history of substance abuse of its century+ span. Guys like Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle, although, not tied to steriods, were consistantly abusing substances. Hell the 1980s was ripe with everything from steriods to amphetamines, but they weren't BANNED at the time, and I don't believe that Mac was doing anything that wasn't going on as the norm in that era of baseball. He's never been convicted of anything, he hasn't been a major focus point of congressional investigations, and just because he chose not to discuss his past doesn't mean he's guilty of anything except using his right to decline to answer...THIS IS AMERICA! INNOCENT TILL PROVEN GUILTY.
