Well, i don't know what happened and neither does anyone else. It was stated that no alcohol was found in his vehicle. No one said they smelled alcohol. they just said "Maybe he just didn't see the tow truck" he could have been reaching for a cell phone, or adjusting radio, It was a horrible freak accident.
