I'll keep this short as I gotta get to work. Back in 1990 I went to an A's/Twins game (I'm in MN), and saw Mac for the first time in person. My friend and I (we were 13 at the time, and his mother was with us) were sitting on the 1st base side. All I remebered was that Rickey Henderson and Jose Canseco hit home runs. McGwire did hit a pop-up foul ball that landed near us.
The second and last time I saw McGwire was during the legendary summer of 98...the Cards had a 3-game series against the Twins. It was June, and in the previous night Mac hit his 36th home run....unbelievable. Unfortunately, we didn't see Mac hit one this day, but the electricity and excitement in the crowd was unbelievable as he stepped up to the plate each at-bat. I mean, my home town crowd cheering for the "enemy"!
