While that's true, it's not accurate regarding HGH. HGH can improve eyesight, reflexes (timing), etc. I believe Mac used both steroids and HGH. I don't think that takes away from what he accomplished...I think it kept and injury prone guy on the field more than on the DL. HGH is the big story here...not steroids. There is currently no test for HGH. The only way to get caught is to leave a paper trail in reference to purchase/delivery.
Also, whether steroids/HGH were illegal or not in baseball in 1998, they were illegal in this country, so he still broke the law.
