What I am wondering is where was all this "innocent until proven guilty" stuff when McGwire was accused. He has been and continues to be presumed guilty, even after no "proof" was uncovered by Mitchell. Many baseball writers have pointed out that McGwire and his lawyer did not cooperate with Mitchell, but neither did any one who was not under some kind of inditement. There is even less evidence against Sosa, though the corked bat does give one pause. My point is not that McGwire is innocent, I don't really know if he is or not. In the last 24 hours, I have heard a lot about the players on the list being entitled to due process and I hope McGwire and Sosa are extended the same courtsey.
