Interesting that he received the exact same number of votes as he did last year (128). Without anything really changing since this time last year, I doubt many of those votes were flip flops. It also indicates that there wasn't any relevence to the theory that many of the writers would simply "punish" Mac for one year by not allowing him to be a first ballot HOF'er. Mac is the first player (of any relevence) of the steroid era to be up for HOF induction...if this is any indication, others will have a hard time getting in as well.
