He got away from the game for 7 years, not a little while. I have always felt Mark's biggest mistake was not being straight at the Congressional Hearings and hiding behind the phrase, "I am not here to talk about the past..." If he did roids, admit it, if you did not, deny it. I think he'd be in a different place right now and better off than he is at present.
With that said, I think his talent is and was immense. He would have had a great career with or without assistance; he was a great hitter. If he were to return in some capacity it could only help a club, and he was also a very good teacher. A win-win situation...
