Like many people, Babe had his faults...but his professional accomplishments in baseball were due to his natural athletic prowess, not being hopped up on drugs (unless you're suggesting that his drinking somehow enhanced his performance, but I doubt that's what you're suggesting).
I never claimed to have never lied or cheated, but I'm not a professional athlete holding myself out as a superstar and gladly accepting recognition for records broken while under the influence of performance-enhancing drugs.
Just as I don't think anyone has the right to pry into ANYONE'S personal life in order to judge that person's public performance on private issues like marital infidelity or personal expression (i.e. Bill Clinton, Tiger Woods, Michael Phelps, etc.), I *do* think people should be accountable for misrepresenting their ability to perform in a *professional* situation.
Mark might be a decent man, but as a role model and example of true sportsmanship, he fails miserably.
