We have always loved Mark for what he has done for basebell, and always will. After the strike, I knew many who hated baseball, then Mark changed everything and brought the love back to the sport. My son was 2 years old at the time, and I would take him to Roger Dean Stadium to watch Spring Training, and for two different years, Mark was kind enough to walk over to my little son, and sign his baseballs each year, in that big mob, no less. One ball is even signed with "70" on it, and we will cherish it no matter what. My son is now 13 and I can not wait to take him out to a practice or two to see Mark up close. Eleven years has passed, and my son was too young to appreciate the big Mark back then, but I saved all the newspapers and the 2 signed balls, so it would be even more special for my son to meet him at age 13 now. I hope he's out there at practices for us all to see him. I'm his biggest fan, Priscilla (Can't wait!)
