Posted by Antoinette Smith on 7/31/2006, 2:09 am I am available for nonprofit consulting on such themes as: Starting a nonprofit organization or foundation The role of the board of directors and the scope of its responsibilities Volunteer management, recruitment and incentitives Time management Preparing for the first grant Meeting Structure, formal or informal Fundraising Constructing an organizational budget Writing a business plan Planned Giving Nonprofit accounting methods Where and when to file tax returns Major Events Planning Publicity Board Recruitment Conflict of Interest Creation of By-Laws and Articles of Incorporation The Nonprofit's limits on political lobbying All funds collected will be donated to the United States Equine Sanctuary & Rescue minus any taxes due by me, Antoinette Smith. USESR is not soliciting donations for my consulting advice directly because A) they cannot legally solicit donations outside the state of Texas, and B) your donation would not be tax deductible unless the amount you donate exceedes the value of service rendered. Services are valued at $50.00 per hour, with a one-hour minimum, so someone would have to pay more than that in order to claim the excess amount as a donation. There is no set fee for asking a question and receiving an answer. All I ask is that you pay whatever you can, according to how technical your question is. I also ask that if you benefit, financially or otherwise, from my advice, you return and make an additional payment (which will be converted into a donation) of any amount you feel is right. Again, there is no set fee to ask a question and receive an answer. You will not be billed if you do not return after being helped by the advice given. I am trying to help the rescue raise money to construct new fencing and shelter for the horses at USESR Headquarters. The pasture was poorly constructed, not intended for horses, and not intended for the number of horses it normally houses on their way to foster or adoptive homes. Our fences are falling down around our horses, and most of our shelter is trees. We plan to replace all existing fencing and add man-made shelters to accomodate up to ten equine at one time, as well as expand our available pasture space and remodel our quarantine pen. When you purchase consulting advice from me, your money will go to help USESR complete this project. To get started, pose your one question to Antoinette via e-mail at broknbel@earthlink.net. You will be sent a confirmation e-mail with payment options (PayPal, check or money order). After your payment is received, you will be e-mailed the answer to your question. This service is open to anyone, private individual or nonprofit corporation officer, director, member, volunteer, or other associate. You must state your full name and state of residence when posing your question so that I can provide advice in compliance with the laws of your state. Your questions will never be made public. All questions and replies are kept confidential unless otherwise agreed to by both parties. Thank you for supporting horse rescue while improving your ability to serve the horses. Today's world of starting and operating a nonprofit organization is complicated. Professional advice is beyond the financial reach of most small nonprofits and those simply contemplating starting their own nonprofit organization. It is for this reason, and to raise funds for horse rescue, that I offer my consulting services, with no set fee or hourly rate.
