It helps to say what state you are in. Many rescues do not adopt out to other states. Also, there are several rescue websites that have national listings of equine rescues. None of them are the same because a few will cease to exist and many, many more start up. A lot do not have adequate presence (hardly anyone knows they exist), so these kinds of rescues may be listed on one of these directories and not on any others.
