Posted by C'est moi on 3/30/2002, 2:13 pm One year when i was like thirteen me and my friend where having a sleep over. I had to be past midnight when she came into my room and woke me up. She asked if i wanted to sneak out of the house and I agreed. We both snuck out through a ground-level window and went to a creek behind the old bus lot. The creek kind of indents like a valley, so it was dark down there and we being brave explorers had forgotten a flashlight.I was looking at the ground trying not to fall on anything when andy gripped my shoulder and hissed "do you see that black shape?"
I think i might have a good one. here goes:
I nodded seeing something in the grass. She sayed "does it seem to be comming towards us?"
I nodded agian. "do you think we should run away now? " she sayed letting go of my shoulder. Too, late, i was already going. We both tore up the hill, and there was a rustling noise behind us. As we reached the top of the hill what ever was following us stopped. We kept going and made it back to her house. Then we realized that i had left my hat out in the feild (why i had the stupid thing on at midnight, i cant remember). We decided that getting caught for sneeking out by our parents was worse than certian death by a mysterious blob (good thinking there huh?)
So we went back to the creek and we searched for like ten minutes for my hat, constantly looking over or shoulders for any blobs that may be sneaking up on us. The grass was waist high, and we were both jumpy to the point of paranoia when i found my hat. Suddenly there was this howl from across the creek. God, how do you describe it? like the sqealing of tires and the roar of some huge injured animal at the same time. My friend didnt get a good look at the thing but i did. It was a dog, a dog the size of a cow! Its jaw looked like it was disconnected cause its mouth was huge. Both of us tore out of the creek, and must have gotten back to her house in twenty seconds flat. We went back the next day when there was the reassurance of daylight, but the creek had overflowed that night and any paw prints that might have been there were washed away. Thought you might find that interesting.
