El Chupacambra Theory

This "goatsucker" could possibly be a gentetic experimentation set by the american scientists to see how the public would react to such a creature. Or it could just be an extreme somatic or famete cell mutation that formed into a small subspecies of bats or other creatures that share the same charecteristics.
